The 2022 Literary Awards Program is Closed. What’s Next?

Well, it is that time of the year again. The 2022 Literary Awards Program is closed to submissions and our reviewers are busy, busy, busy getting all the titles read and reviewed. To that end, we have a couple of housekeeping notes and reminders:

1. PRINT COPY DEADLINE TO MAIL IS NOW! Anyone planning to submit print copies for the program must be postmarked with tomorrow’s date: January 3, 2023.
2. WE MUST HAVE ALL READING MATERIALS IN HOUSE BY JANUARY 10^TH. If we haven’t received your printed books (if applicable) by then you will need to send us a digital copy of your book. Any reading materials outstanding as of January 11^th will be disqualified (as noted in the submission guidelines, entry fees are non-refundable). Delay of any reading materials will push back the announcement of the finalists and winners.
3. OUTSTANDING ENTRY FEES ARE DUE NOW. Entry fees are due at the time of submission. All unpaid submissions will be disqualified at the end of the day today: January 2, 2023.

Reviews are posted as soon as we receive them from our reviewers. Many of you already have your reviews in hand. We hope to have all reviews received and posted by the end of February 2023 so we can announce finalists and winners by mid-March. We realize our process is long – our program is not an automatic entry system where books are judged using a random checklist. Our reviewers read your books in their entirety and, as a “reviewer’s choice” awards program, those reviews carry weight (though are not the deciding factor) on the ultimate outcomes. Only once the reviews are all in are scores tabulated and finalists/winners determined.

We believe all books have something to offer to readers. And while we wish all participants could win, we realize that is impossible. Just know that YOU have made our jobs difficult with the quality of books received this year. We stand in awe of each one of you for sharing a piece of you with an audience through your writing.
