“Best of Luck” is the second book in the O’Brien series by Corinne Scott.

Siobhan O’Brien hails from a traditional Irish family. She is a fiery redhead who grew up surrounded by protective brothers. When her father needs help running The Lion O’Brien, which is the family’s pub, Siobhan works extra hard to prove that she can do it, as this is her lifelong dream. Siobhan is furious that a new non-authentic Irish pub is getting ready to open, O’Shaughnessy’s Shenanigans, which is the 13th pub owned by Crew Costa. Siobhan and Crew meet when they literally run into each other in the hallway of her apartment building. Sparks instantly fly between the two. Crew is a sexy, reformed bad boy who finds Siobhan irresistible.

The rivalry really begins when they join up with a few other established pubs for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl. The pub owners are notorious for pranking each other. It all starts out in good fun, but quickly goes downhill when it appears that Crew is either involved with some malicious pranks or he is being set up to appear guilty. Siobhan and Crew must work through their differences to try to resolve this. Meanwhile, matters are getting worse and it appears that their lives are in danger. On top of all of this, they have to figure out if they have a future together because Crew is getting ready to move out of state for his next pub project.

“Best of Luck,” is a fast-paced romantic suspense novel. Corinne Scott, the author, does a great job of creating a novel with lively characters. The banter between the characters is entertaining, as well as are the ingenuous ways that the pub competitors prank each other. This is the second book in the O’Brien series, and it stands well on its own, so it is not necessary to read them in order, but personally, I would like to go back and catch up so that I am ready for the third book! “Best of Luck” would be an excellent selection for a women’s reader group.
