ANNOUNCEMENT: 2022-2023 Reader Views Literary Awards Results Are In 1024 576 Reader Views

And the winners are…

Today we announce the winners of the 2022-2023 Reader Views Literary Awards Program! The expectation is high among the reviewers who, for an entire year, read and score hundreds of submissions from an eclectic group of categories as diverse as the group of reviewers and judges within our 3-tier judging system. We congratulate the finalists and remind all participants that writing and publishing a book already makes you a winner!

Competitions like this one are not just fun, and exciting, they serve a vital purpose for authors. Winning an award gives authors and their books credibility in the competitive sales world. But credibility is not the only vital element of an author’s platform to get readers to notice their book in such an enormous sea of books, currently available. Following are some other things authors can do to get noticed:

  • Speaking Events. Once you publish a book, you become an expert in the subject of writing and publishing, as well as the topic of your book, thanks to the research you did on it. Take advantage of your new expert status and become a speaker! Even if speaking events are for free, they are the best way to attract readers, sell books and connect with an audience. Bring books and announce that signed books are available for purchase at the end of the event.

  • Use social media to get noticed. Whether through ads, content postings, or online interviews like webcasts or podcasts, social media is the easiest and most accessible way to spread the news of your book. If you don’t have the time or are not computer savvy enough to do it yourself, hire a publicist or an intern. But be consistent to keep the buzz going.

  • Connect your blog, page and other current happenings and news about you and your book with your Amazon book page through Amazon Author Central. This will keep your amazon page current as it will show how active you are as an author right there on the platform where most readers go to buy books.

Finally, always be your genuine self. Readers love and connect with authors that are down to earth. And readers that connect with the author are more likely to buy their books!

Congratulations to all the finalists and winners!

I am humbled and thrilled to receive the Bronze Medal for my poetic memoir, Wolf Woman & Other Poems, 50 poems written over 50 years divided into life stage! Although I’ve been writing poetry since I was 18, it was only in the last year+ that I held my breath while I trembled, and my heart pounded and pressed send to submit my most personal musings to the world. A bucket list goal achieved.

    Thank you!!!

  • Gene Berardelli

This entire experience has been AMAZING!

Thank you Reader Views for choosing my book as an award recipient. And, congratulations to all the other award winners, finalists, and participants.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think my little book that I developed with my friends while just sitting around talking politics would be so well received outside of my friends and family. You all have given the confidence to tell even more people about my book (Schnooks, Crooks, Liars & Scoundrels) and have turned what was essentially a bucket list check-off into a much more fulfilling adventure!

  • Liz Fogleman

Thank you for showcasing my historical fiction novel, The Reluctant Scot, and for honoring it with this Adult Classic award, Guess it’s time to start my sequel.
