Today we announce the winners of the 2020-2021 Reader Views Literary Awards Program! The expectation is high among the reviewers who, for an entire year, read and score hundreds of submissions from an eclectic group of categories as diverse as the group of reviewers and judges within our 3-tier judging system. We congratulate the finalists and remind all participants that writing and publishing a book already makes you a winner!
Competitions like this one are not just fun and exciting, they serve a vital purpose for authors. Winning an award gives authors and their books credibility in the competitive sales world but awards are not the only credibility tool for writers. Following are some tools writers can use to establish credibility:
- Write about what you know. If you are a Lawyer write about law, even if writing fiction (legal thrillers, crime, lawsuits…etc). Use what you can extract from your life: your profession, studies, life events so that you can include them in your bio.
- Do your research and talk about it. Whether writing fiction or nonfiction, the author must do the research to produce a believable plot on the case of fiction or factual and useful information in the case of non-fiction. Because of the research you have done, you will be considered an expert in the subject. So, use your expert status to promote your work!
- Organize, attend, and speak at events as a panelist. Generating a crowd following makes the statement that you know what you are talking about.
Finally, always be your confident self – because that makes you credible. See the complete list of winners below. For more information on the 2021-2022 program visit www.readerviews.com.
