“Journeys to the Bright Morning Star” tells of one man’s faithful and incredible journey through life.  Inspired by a vision to share his story, E. Wiseman Woomer, Jr., tells us of the beautiful experiences that he encountered after he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.  He shares his journey with his wife, daughter and granddaughter.  While everything doesn’t always proceed perfectly, he is able to reflect upon where he felt that the Lord had a hand in helping him overcoming obstacles or teaching him lessons about what he needed to learn.  At times, he also finds himself fighting spiritual battles against the enemy.  Recognizing these situations for what they are, he is able to overcome them with the strength of his faith.

Having a supportive wife and a close relationship with his daughter, the author’s journey takes him to many places and new experiences. Unfortunately, there are some hard times in there, but with the support of his family and his faith, they can overcome anything.  Interwoven into these times, he has some beautiful visions that strengthen his resolve and make it impossible to deny his faith.
           
I enjoyed reading “Journeys to the Bright Morning Star.”  As he begins each chapter with a biblical phrase and then tells his story, I found myself reflecting upon his personal experiences and those that I have had in my own life.  We have shared some similar mystical awakenings.  Reading about some of these shared experiences, such as his description of seeing an angel, helps reaffirm and strengthen my own beliefs.  While I enjoyed reading “Journeys to the Bright Morning Star” on my own, I think that it would make a great selection for a Christian study group.
