Success Envy Crash Reborn
“Success Envy Crash Reborn” is the story of a Brazilian immigrant in pursuit of the American dream and who ultimately finds it with incredible magnificence. The jealousy and resentment aroused at another’s better fortune, otherwise known as envy, rears its ugly head, and its story is told. Finally, failure and then an astonishing resurgence are examined. Tony Lima is the celebrity whose life story is being told. Author JoySun Wong warns us from the outset of the true life full of fantasies, dreams, success, love and wealth that reads more like a fiction novel than a true story. Tony Lima founded Exbrus Corporation in California in the late 1980’s. In 1997, the office headquarters was moved to Miami since Florida had become the Latin American gateway. By age 42, Tony had gained enormous financial and personal wealth while actively supporting two Brazilian charities. In his hometown of Jaguariu’na is the “House of Children,” a home for 300 abandoned and orphaned kids, and in Sao Paulo is where 400 plus underprivileged young people can study to become beauticians. This book is the memoirs of Tony’s life and how he came to be where he is today. He appears to be quite the character, and JoySun Wong frequently refers to him as a Don Juan type sort of guy who likes the ladies. JoySun tells the story of both Tony’s business and personal life and how the two are obviously intertwined. This biography could be for just about anyone, but potential entrepreneurs and aspiring business persons would probably be most interested. Those who study the successes and failures of businesses should also find it intriguing. I found the final three chapters of the twenty chapter book to be my favorite. Chapter 18 describes where Tony is at the present and reflects on the path of his life journey. Also contained is a question and answer portion where JoySun asks Tony about milestones and personal habits that have changed Tony’s life. Tony Lima has definitely seen the major highs along with rock bottom lows, so he has an opinion about what works in life and business and also what does not. At present, Tony Lima is a much different man from the person he was several years ago, thus he has been reborn, writes JoySun. Tony Lima has given up materialistic wants and has become a vegetarian, to name a few changes. He also has a definite opinion on the power of money, and this is included in detail. Chapter 19 is a life manual that Tony follows on a daily basis. This is good information we might all be interested in. Finally, Chapter 20 is on clairvoyance, describing where Tony sees himself going. He is an optimist, and that is good! “Success Envy Crash Reborn” is an intriguing read, especially the final three chapters. We might all find some useful advice in its pages. My only grievance would be that the book lacks a table of contents, so it is not all that easy to go back and find something a second time that one might be looking for. Otherwise, the story is stimulating and even comical at times, intermingled with much emotion. I recommend reading “Success Envy Crash Reborn” to those interested in the mechanics and politics of running a successful business. |
