Passionate Spirits
Unemployed and single, Iris does not have a lot happening in her life. When she is offered the chance to do some investigating for a friend, she jumps at the chance. The skeleton of a body that was murdered ninety-years ago has been discovered on a family’s property. Iris is to go to the family home and look through personal items such as mementos and diaries to discover who was murdered. The extra pay will help her, plus she has an opportunity to enjoy someone else’s heat and food. When Iris arrives at the old home, she discovers that its current owner is not the elderly recluse that she imagined him to be. Instead he is a reclusive man closer to her age. She finds Mathew very attractive and mysterious. As she starts reading through a diary, she learns about a couple who was not allowed to be together because the young man was not good enough for her family. The woman, named Stella, begins visiting Iris in ghost form so that she can tell her story. Much of their story is given to Iris in dream form. As the dreams continue she experiences their intimate moments. She also discovers the truth about what happened. As Iris is doing her investigating, Mathew is checking her out. When a storm strands her with him, he asks her to pose for him. He is a sculptor. She agrees, even though she knows she will be nude. This draws the couple closer to each other. The ghost of Stella approves of their match. It is up to Iris and Mathew to decide that they have something special that should be continued. “Passionate Spirits” tells a passionately erotic tale. Both the couple of the past and the couple of the present have something very special and unique. Trinidad West creates some extremely erotic, well-done scenes. I really enjoyed how she builds sexual tension between the couple. These scenes make it virtually impossible to stop reading until the tension is relieved. There are definitely some gothic elements in this story. Mathew seems a bit like a tortured soul. Iris needs someone to break her out of her shell. Together the two complete each other and help each other overcome their difficulties. “Passionate Spirits” by Trinidad West is a must read for all fans of romance. |
