Yes, food does seem to taste better if your place setting is elegant and the presentation is superb.  One way to add inexpensive elegance is by creating interesting and fun napkin folds. It not only adds color but also adds to the table decoration making the whole presentation more pleasing to the eye.

The first part of “Perfect Table Settings” dedicates the space to learning about choosing napkins, holders, and how to fold the napkins to create a specific theme.  The second part of the book covers tablecloths, china/glassware, silverware, centerpieces, seating plans, and party favors.  In the end you will have a pulled-together look that will have your guests say WOW! over and over again.

I loved the section and illustration of how to set a buffet table. The flow is important and the placement of the food items needs to be in an organized fashion.  As well, the presentation needs to be beautiful so that one overall glance will give the guests an idea of what items they need to leave room for on their plate.

I commend Denise Vivaldo on creating “Perfect Table Settings.” I truly believe this book is one of the best books on the market on this topic.  I highly recommend getting one for yourself and one for each of your friends.  You will all enjoy each other’s creations as you move to making a “perfect table setting” for your next party.
