Wisdom Rising: A self-help guide to personal transformation, spirituality and mind/body/spirit holistic living
One of Vaishali’s most influential teachers was actually born in the 1700s. He was Emanuel Swedenborg. He was a scientist who took his life beyond the mundane and into the spiritual realm. It was really fascinating to read about this man. I had never heard of him before, yet there are many important people, throughout history, whose lives have been tremendously enriched and influenced by his writings. He believed that we are here on earth because of this spiritual law: “You are what you love; and you love whatever you are giving your attention to.” This can affect us either positively or negatively, so Vaishali advises us to be careful about what we choose to love. In addition to writing about Swedenborg, she also discusses other teachers who have had an influence on her life. These people range from Edgar Cayce to comedian Lenny Bruce. Vaishali definitely sees that there are valuable lessons to be learned from people of all backgrounds! I really enjoyed this book because while Vaishali touches on some very deep topics, she writes with both intelligence and wit. It makes the material presented so much easier to absorb. It is written holistically so that every aspect of our lives is addressed including the mind/body and spirit. I don’t think that the author left any stone unturned. The thought that influenced me most in this book, was that instead of waiting for things to come in to my life like love, happiness, divinity; I need to know that I am all this. I am love, I am happiness, etc. None of us should be waiting to get these things from other people, we already have and are it - we just need to recognize this within ourselves. This is very empowering to me. I highly recommend that you get “Wisdom Rising” by Vaishali as a gift for yourself and as a wonderful gift for people that you care about. |
