Jackie grew up in a house of ill repute. Her mother was a prostitute, and she didn't know who her father was. After her mother died, the other ladies of the house took to watching over Jackie. It was one of those women that Jackie asked for help while on the run from the law and a powerful drug dealer.

Anna had a trailer outside a town called Spencer's Springs, Colorado. That is where Jackie fled in hopes of starting a new life. She got a job busing tables at the Blue Wolf. The first night on the job, Matt Forrester sat in one of the booths with a date and some friends. Matt, however, could not take his eyes off of Jackie.

Matt convinces Jackie to go out with him. Every time she sees Matt, she knows she should break things off, but just can't seem to do it. What would a rich man want with her? she asks herself. Matt finally coaxes her to tell him what is going on. He vows that he will help her get out of trouble, which he does by contacting a friend of his in the police department.

“Tough Enough” is a nice blend of romance and suspense, they work together to keep you interested until the end. The characters are sympathetic and you can't help but root for them in hopes that everything will turn out well in the end.

This is a book for anyone who loves romance. It is definitely a book that I will read over and over again… it's that good!
