Shlosser confirmed my suspicions on how the fast food industry has impacted our society. His investigations in the meat packing plants produces disturbing accounts about working and unsanitary conditions that submit E. coli and other pathogens into restaurants, homes, and schools.

Sholosser writes "This is a book about fast food, the values it embodies, and the world it has made." He points out many times that the industry is fighting against government regulations, yet shows how the government benefits from subsidies. He devotes chapters of the book to various aspects of the industry, citing details of the agribusiness and meat packing business. Fast Food Nation steers the reader to consider taking responsibility in eating healthy food rather than the lethal bi-products disguised as food in fast food outlets.

Well documented, Fast Food Nation provides the reader a frightening account of how lives are impacted by the fast food industry.
