Rita Sable writes this erotic thriller with precision and suspense. The characters, although fictitious, are ones that all working class citizens can relate to. As noted in previous books read by this author, the story ends with a happy couple. Ms. Sable not only tantalizes the reader with the chase for a valuable jewel, but also sexual lust which develops a fantasy into reality.
When Cynthia Lyons agrees to appraise a gem for a late afternoon caller, her personal and professional life becomes one of hiding and transformation. While earning a modest income from her jewelry design business, she is shocked to observe a rare five-caret white diamond. The owner of this gem leaves her with it never to return. She soon discovers that many others want to know the whereabouts of this precious jewel.
Agent Trevor St. James has chosen his career despite the disapproval of his family. He has given up on ever meeting the woman of his dreams, until he is assigned the duty of investigating the case of the five-caret diamond and its beautiful caretaker. Trevor finds himself falling madly in love with Cynthia and having to prove time and again that their relationship is for the long term.
This book is intended for a mature audience. Those that are curious or follow the lifestyle of light bondage will find this story highly erotic and descriptive. Ms. Sable writes in a manner which leaves the reader eager to continue the story with many surprises along the way.
I would recommend reading “Family Jewels.” Although a fictional story, the reader will learn of a secret which took place sixty years ago in Russia.
Cynthia and Trevor meet under the most unusual circumstances. They begin their relationship amidst danger, deception among their colleges and each looking for someone special in their lives. Although Cynthia believes their playful sexual intimacies to be for the moment, Trevor convinces her otherwise. From danger, to the safety of home and finding their safe haven in each other’s arms, this couple witness murder, deception and distrust to be together, forever in the end.
