Mindy awakens in hospital room with amnesia and no knowledge of the person that attacked her and killed her identical twin sister during their morning jog. As Mindy tries to recover her memory and rediscover herself, she uncovers startling secrets which will shock those closest to her. These secrets make it vital that she remember who the killer is before he decides to come after her again.

This book is for readers of mystery and suspense; however, readers of fiction will find the easy flowing format and storyline intriguing. Ms. Roy appears to understand the fine line between giving the reader enough details to place themselves in a scene yet not overwhelm the story with tedious descriptions. She highlights the interconnecting lives of residents of a small town in a simplistic, yet realistic style. Entanglements between the characters, past and present add to the whodunit mystery. From the first page, you are drawn into the story. Page after page the reader will try to identify the killer, changing their opinions as new events unfold. Short chapters create a quick-paced feel to the book and help build the suspense as Mindy’s memories return.

In her first book, Ms. Roy does an excellent job of leading the reader to create suspects of all the main characters. Readers will guess and second guess the killer’s identity before the shocking truth is finally revealed. I found it extremely difficult to put down this gripping novel until the climatic ending was reached.
