Power, Passion and Purpose: 7 Steps to Energizing Your Life In today's world we all feel the pressures of every day living. Some of us feel it more than others. Yet some people really do seem to enjoy their full life. Why? Everything from getting up in the morning, going to work, picking up the kids, running them to practices, making dinners, stopping to buy groceries and getting the house to look like it's not the aftermath of a severe hurricane can be victory enough for anyone; but to do it all and not feel drained is a feat I may have deemed impossible before reading this wonderful book by Ann Nichols Roulac. Now, I feel like I can manage the stresses of every day life and perhaps even end it with a little energy left over. While I'm sure it will take a while to improve upon the tactics she explains, often in great detail, I know that I have the basis for beginning to truly enjoy my life and do it without feeling drained and incomplete. I now have the knowledge needed to approach my world in a whole new, positive way. Roulac's book is a combination of various techniques that she has studied throughout her life. She covers everything from simple prayer to meditation to yoga and ancient techniques from India. One of my favorite areas of the book was her explanation of how the body connects together to form one whole. I'm not talking a physical connection. It's not anatomy 101. More like Chakra 101. Chakra, the ancient way of thinking from India where one realizes that your body and various parts of it are connected to your energy, functions and entire reactions of the body. For instance, your first Chakra is at your base or spine. The 1st Chakra works with your adrenals, kidneys and colon and affects your life forces, vitality, instincts and survival. If you learn to fully develop these 7 Chakras you will certainly benefit by using your body to its fullest abilities and creating a harmony within yourself. This ancient Yogic technique from India seems not only very logical but truly interesting and has been proven as a technique for centuries. Beautifully written and well thought out, each chapter is reviewed with a bulleted synopsis at the end. Creating an easy access to telling you what you read and making it much more easily accessible again in the future, these short clips at the end of each chapter can also be rewarding to helping you fully understand what you have read. Whether you chose something as simple and mellow as prayer, meditation, music or aromatherapy or you decide to go for more intense techniques as deep tissue massage therapy, yoga, chiropractics or T'ai Chi Chih you can feel comfortable in making an educated choice of techniques to bring your body, soul and energy into one harmonious spectrum. Becoming educated on what's available and feeling comfortable with each of your own intelligences combined, creating a whole-body intelligence that lives as one will truly be a gift to yourself and those around you. If your mental intelligence, spiritual intelligence, emotional intelligence and physical intelligence become whole and healthy, they will combine together to create a world of energy and happiness. The only thing holding you back from feeling whole again is yourself. Take the time to enjoy your life and know your body. Take the time to read up and know what choices will actually work for you and have a wonderful book of reference to look back on often as your world around you changes and you have new needs to finding happiness from within.
