It’s almost time for March Madness! That time of year when you see who gets bids to the NCAA tournament. Why is it that the ladies of the University of Tennessee are ranked among the best of the best? Just what is their secret to their success? In the last 35 years, they have made great strides in leaps and bounds to the top.

“Second to None” is your chance to read about the illustrious rise to the top in the last 35 years. The lady volunteers’ head coach has written a book, “Reach for the Sumitt,” about how she developed the women’s basketball program. “Second to None” is different in the fact that it takes the individual steps broken down into a few years at a time and describes each level. Specific trials with the various other schools in their conference and their rivalries are examined.

“Second to None” by Alan Ross is a terrific book for all fans of College women’s basketball. There are many pages full of statistics of all the different games. The results and percentages are awesome! If you find yourself becoming addicted to watching college basketball and rooting for the ladies in the bright orange, this is a must read for you. This book is truly second to none when chronicling the history of the lady volunteers.
