Palmer Morel arrives at his summer coaching job feeling he has hit the jackpot.  Finding his tennis pupil loaded with talent, and two gorgeous women fighting for his affection, Morel decides this may be just the escape he needs after all he’s been through.

Things begin to turn badly real quick, however, when he finds himself digging into the inner workings of the Purple Gang, an underground mafia believed to have been destroyed in the 1930s.  Very much alive, they seek to destroy Morel to save their secrets.  In the meantime, he has also gotten himself in a love triangle that threatens self destruction.

This action-packed adventure is a slice-in-time story that involves a lot of action in a very short timeline.  In addition to a good edit job, this book would have benefited from stronger background and character development.  While it hooks the reader quickly and makes for a fast-paced read, some of the plot feels forced and the story would be more effective if the reader had a better feel for the characters.

Fasten your seatbelts as “Ten Mile Creek” will take you on a wild ride through the action-packed underworld of the mafia.  Equipped with sex, drugs, murder, and corrupt cops it leaves no avenue undiscovered!  Like a good roller coaster, it’s a short, but wild ride that leaves you wondering what just happened and wanting to get back on for another ride!
