Southern deserts from the best!  That’s what “Atlanta Classic Desserts” is all about.  In her book, Krista Reese compiled some of the best of the favorite restaurants in Atlanta and presented them in the most delightful way. Not only is the book an art by itself, the recipes are to die for!

From The Glenwood Atlanta comes “Fried Oreos with Bourbon Ice Cream.”  Yes, real Oreos (Double-Stuff ones at that!) deep fried in a yummy flakey coating and served with homemade ice cream.

Babette’s Café showcase “Lemon Poppyseed Cake” is one of the best.  Light, fluffy and most delicious.  The accompanying lemon mouse is rich and compliments the cake very well.

And of course, the southern classic of banana pudding from Agnes and Muriel’s beats any other pudding I’ve tasted.  Sweet, rich, and super smooth, “Banana Pudding with Toasted Cinnamon Walnuts” is sure to please everyone at the dinner table.

The selection of dessert recipes represent the fine dining of Atlanta. Krista Reese, an Atlanta-based restaurant critic, in her fabulous cookbook “Atlanta Classic Desserts” will entice you to put away all your other dessert recipe books and try everyone in this book.  I can honestly say she has swayed me!
