Cooking with Healthy Girl: Everyday Recipes made Healthy The first recipe I tried is Oregano Chicken. It was easy to prepare and very tasty. I used fresh oregano which I believe gave a stronger flavor. I did end up baking the dish about 5 minutes longer than suggested in the recipe. The second recipe I tried is Spicy Red Potatoes. They were crisp and spicy as well as a hit. The recipe calls for 3 cloves of garlic which may seem like an access but to our taste it wasn’t. The third recipe I tried is Blackberry Crisp. It is certainly a recipe I will be making again. I liked the subtle hint of cinnamon. It was just enough and didn’t mask the flavor of the blackberries. The only thing I would do next time is reduce the sugar. We felt it was just a little too sweet. In total there was 1/2 sugar and 1/4 cup blackberry preserves. Mandy Potter has a winner here! The books is well designed, has colorful pictures, and nutritional/serving information. There are many more recipes I will be trying very soon. I found all the ingredients in my pantry and by just perusing the other recipes I acknowledge that I have most of them. “Cooking with Healthy Girl” by Mandy Potter is a cookbook I would recommend to any busy person. The recipes are simple and quick. This is a keeper! |
