The author has written an exceptional book on pre-invasion conspiracies that will capture readers from the beginning. Her detailed descriptions of the characters, environment and possibilities will have all wonder- could it happen?

The planet of Cory came into being after earth was destroyed. All those living in Cory are slaves of a devisious man named Prackerd. The Corian’s existence is little if at all, they work in factories and are monitored all the time. Their punishment is severe for any infraction they make against their ruler, real or perceived.

There are many who are trying to find a way to save the planet Cory, among them is a family of “lightning rods.” Lightning rods are what we know as protestors who write articles against the current regime. All lightning rods know if they are caught, punishment will be swift and severe. However, this does not stop them from doing their job regardless of the sacrifices.

One of the main characters, Kerry, is a 12-year-old boy who is alone in the world. He often wonders about his parents and why they never chose to look for him. Many of the Corian’s had their families with them, but he was alone. Others found Kerry to be too perfect for them, he had an excellent memory and made excellent grades.

Kerry’s attempt to make friends led him to the family of William Bentler, a family of lightning rods. The family befriended him - all accept the daughter, Kerry. She was suspicious of him and let her family know.

With “For Cory’s Sake,” by Carolyn Wada, the author has given an intriguing, exciting and fast-paced story about what could happen if earth was destroyed. I believe it gives the reader the opportunity to discover his or her own feelings of what might come.
