When I first began my spiritual journey, I found myself hungry for any information about the spiritual path that I could find.  Unfortunately, there were a lot of great books, but they were beyond my understanding at the time.  I needed something that would help me understand the changes that were taking place in my life and to help me transition to the next level.  That is exactly what Sandy Nathan’s “Stepping off the Edge: Learning & Living Spiritual Practice” does.  The author writes with sincerity, humor and total honesty about life on the spiritual path.

This book is about Sandy Nathan’s real-life journey on the spiritual path.  She is completely honest about her addiction with e-bay and the many other human qualities that can block the spirit in one’s life.  I really enjoyed Nathan’s writing style and can best describe it as gentle and humorous.  I almost felt like I was reading a friend’s stories rather than an author that I did not know.  I can see why people entering the spiritual path trusted her to talk with them about their experiences.

As the author began the journey on her spiritual path it took her on many interesting adventures, from living on a working horse ranch in California, to becoming a writer and leading her to a Native American spiritual retreat called the Gathering.  I have never been on one of these retreats but I was fascinated by what happens to her during her most recent one.

This book will leave you asking many questions about your quality of life.  Are you happy with it?  Would you like to live your best life possible?  Through her writings you will be able to learn to listen to your spirit on a daily basis and make what you want possible in your life.  I thought “Stepping Off the Edge” was very well written and would recommend it to people new to the spiritual path.  You will find not only a well-written book, but feel like you have made a friend on the spiritual path.
