Until I received “175 Best Babycakes Cupcake Maker Recipes” for review, I had no idea there actually is such a thing as a BabycakesÒ Cupcake Maker.   Imagine...not having to use your oven to make cupcakes again!  Depending on the size and manufacturer of the maker online, prices range from $15 to $50.00.  It certainly is one of the coolest gadgets I’ve seen in a long time and I was able to purchase one locally for a comparable price.

Excited to use my new gadget, I made “Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes.”  Using a chocolate cake mix and adding eggs, peanut butter and oil, the batter was quickly made.  I filled the paper- lined wells with the batter and in about 8 minutes the cupcakes were done and ready to be taken out of the maker. I repeated with the second batch and in no time I had a bunch of cupcakes.  The suggested “Peanut Butter Cream Cheese Frosting” was a wonderful touch.   The cupcakes were light, tasty, and yummy.

For the purpose of the review we are asked to test three recipes.  For the second recipe I made “Ham and Parmesan Muffins.”  Using the usual ingredients and adding basil, Parmesan cheese, and finely chopped ham, the end result was moist and flavorful.  I liked adding yogurt.  We ate these muffins at breakfast with scrambled eggs and sliced tomatoes.  Wonderful!  I'll be making these again.

The third recipe I tested was “Mini Carmel Pecan Sticky Buns.”  Yes!  You can actually make sticky buns in a cupcake maker!  Using refrigerated crescent roll dough sprinkled with sugar/cinnamon and then cutting into rolls, they are baked for about 4 minutes.  The rolls are then taken out, turned over and baked another 4 minutes.  Once out, a topping of butter, brown sugar, heavy cream and chopped pecans is spooned over the top.   The sticky buns were gooey, heavy, and sweet.  Add a cup of freshly brewed coffee and it’s hard to stop at eating only one.

It’s fun to try out new products and savor the end result.  As I perused the other recipes, I saw a lot of them I would like to make.  It’s just incredible what you can make using a cupcake maker and I encourage you to consider “175 Best Babycakes Cupcake Maker Recipes” if you have one.  Kathy Moore and Roxanne Wyss outdid themselves in providing recipes.
