As a Psychology Professor I have always felt that it is important to take stock of your life and where you are going each year and I pass this on to my students.  Fore and Massey have written a book that will help one do just that.

A.B. Lincoln has a life that is going nowhere. He is lost in his world and has an attitude that shows it.  Many of us work hard, have money and a good life, we think, but inside we are not happy.  We turn to therapists, religion and self-help books, or just plain give up. A.B. did not do that, but he had the help of an old prospector with a shovel.

There are six Laws of the Shovel; they are not new to readers, but how they are presented through stories is what will remain in reader’s minds. As the authors stated “I wanted desperately wanted everything A.B. told me to be true, because being a part of his story has touched me in places I didn’t even know existed before.”  Readers will feel the same once they read this book and the stories contained within.

“The Shovel” by Baker Fore and Tom Massey is such an inspiring read that will make you rethink what is important in your life and question you as to whether you are all you can be. Regardless of the economy, romances and joblessness, one can have a good happy life. It is up to each of us to change, not for others but for ourselves.
