The tale begins, near Paris, one-hundred years in our future.  The planet has nearly been destroyed by the Great Devastation.  Tera Fitzpatrick has a bone to pick with Darius Hadides who is the largest mining industrialist in the world.  Unbeknownst to her, he is also a godkin, which is a vampire who is born of Greek Gods.  Tera has been trying to get to him for five years.  She fears that he will use his mining company to destroy Torgon Forest, which is one of the last in the planet.
           
Darius is very attracted to Tera.  Now that he has met her, he does not want to let go.  He has to convince her that he has the planet’s best interest at heart. Unfortunately, he also has to deal with an “insane, avenging goddess.”  Meanwhile, Tera and Darius discover some intensely erotic moments together.  When things come to a head, Tera learns the truth about Darius and his history. 
           
I enjoyed reading this novella, “Tera’s Awakening.”  This is the first time that I have heard of “godkins.”  It was fascinating to see how the author, Kelly Maher, tied in vampires to the legends of the Greek gods.  Coupling this with Darius and Tera’s romantic story really gives the reader some excellent reading material.  Fans of erotic romance will love this story.
