Archaeologist Dr. Jacqueline Daniels, aka Jaxi, is excited to get a call for professional assistance from Connor Stone.  Jaxi and Connor attended college together.  Hearing from him again, she still experiences the same unrequited feelings that she had for him in college.  Asking her to come down to the Yucatan, she is very excited to join him.  A mysterious Mayan artifact has been discovered.  Jaxi has to use her expert knowledge to determine if it is real or fake.

Immediately after coming in contact with the artifact, Jaxi finds herself attuned to it and its wonderful powers.  It releases her from her sexual inhibitions.  This is much to Connor’s benefit.  Learning that a cult that worships this artifact and its partner is still active, Jaxi and Connor would like to see the artifact returned to them.  Jaxi also has to decide whether or not what she has with Connor is real or magic.

Elyssa Lynne has created a wonderful story in “Laid in Stone.”  Combining magic, eroticism, and a mystery makes for a great quick read in this novella.  Much creativity went into writing this story, from the mythological story to the incredible erotic scenes, Ms. Lynne manages to cover all of her bases.  I really loved this story and believe that other readers will also feel the same way!
