Robert Ludlum created Jason Bourne’s character.  Eric Van Lustbader has used the character in “The Bourne Betrayal.  This is the fifth in a series of Jason Bourne books.  “The Bourne Betrayal” is the follow-up to “The Bourne Legacy.”

Jason Bourne, a.k.a. David Webb, is a foreign-service officer and specialist in Far Eastern affairs.  He had a family that was killed in a previous book.  This prompted Bourne to join a top secret group called the “Medua.”  In “Bourne Supremacy,” the movie, Bourne is played by Matt Damon.  That is a nice image to keep of Bourne, though Damon’s character was a bit watered down.

Bourne is having flashbacks in “The Bourne Betrayal”.  He sees a therapist, but the flashbacks get worse.  Are the flashbacks going to keep him from saving the United States from terrorists?

I think “The Bourne Betrayal” is a book men will especially love.  It is action-packed.  Women may opt for a book with less action and more fluff.  I encourage all readers to buy “The Bourne Betrayal,” but read the series in order from the beginning to fully grasp Jason Bourne.
