Lithian Ivani Gorl meets up with a cetalean named Garom Sesh.  He is a hydrologist visiting planet Lithos.  His expertise is required to help repair the planet’s ecosystem which was badly damaged by heavy rainfall.  Ivani and Garom are both staying at a place named “Retreat” on Lake Silith.  The lake has tremendously increased in size after the heavy rainfall.

Garom is of a race of people that prefers to live in the water.  He has webbed appendages and gills.  Garom and Ivani are attracted to each other, and when they finally get together, they have out-of-this-world sex.  Garom discovers that the waters from the lake cause his body to create pearls when mixed with his own body fluids.  Ivani also discovers this after they have been intimate in the lake.  This gives whole new meaning to the sexual connotation when referring to a “strand of pearls.”  As Ivani and Garom fall for each other, they also think that they may have solved the mystery as to how the planet can be healed.  The solution is very unique.

“Sea of Pearls” is a very fun, erotic quick read.  The author, Elaine Lowe, has written a very unique plot.  I totally enjoyed the refreshing change of pace in this story.  She also does an awesome job with writing the intimate scenes.  Having Garom’s physiology designed a little different from human men, made everything in the story even more fun. “Sea of Pearls” is definitely a story not to be missed.
