When PR queen, Maddie Chilton, is dethroned from her Miami firm, she heads to a fishing camp located on Lake Mooselookmeguntic, in rural Maine.  Maddie is horrified with her co-workers choice of a going away gift, which doesn’t fit her personality at all.  When she arrives at the camp, Maddie meets a variety of interesting characters including Flo, an opera loving cook who dreads the customers, Wayne, the handyman, who just may be too handy for his own good and Cal, her personal fishing guide, who is not only one fine man, he also enjoys skinny dipping.  Though Maddie can’t seem to catch any fish, she is having luck catching a man.  When a new business opportunity presents itself, Maddie’s original impressions begin to fade as she learns not everything is what it appears to be on the outside.  It turns out Maddie’s trip could change her life forever.

“Good Catch” is an entertaining and enjoyable contemporary romance.  I instantly connected with the main character, Maddie, who had a career similar to my own and shares a lot of the same likes and dislikes as I do.  My idea of a vacation has nothing to do with a rural lake, camping or anything cold, outdoors or dealing with baiting a fishing line.  I laughed at many of the situations Maddie finds herself in at the beginning of the book.  I couldn’t help but be glad I was only reading the novel.

However, I also fell in love with the characters in this romance.  They are well developed, each unique in their own way.  They have charming and colorful personalities, even if some of them are hidden underneath rough exteriors. This novel is a heartwarming, sexy romance that promises laughter and sweet sentiment.  Built around fish, this romance catches its reader and hooks them until the end.  Tracy Ann Lord has a smooth-flowing, easy-to-read writing style, which I enjoyed.  Before I knew it this book was finished.  I would recommend “Good Catch.”
