Did Not Survive
I have to say from the very first page readers will be captivated by this fast-action book. I never knew what went on in a zoo and the different personalities and competition involved. Each character in this book is asked to do things they are not qualified to do. The competition and hard feelings are things I never considered. In addition, the author really gives us an inside view on zoo’s and people’s personalities. It is amazing that the author has such a great insight on animal behavior. She is so adept at describing her experience with animals. Most of us never think about this. The vivid descriptions on individual’s thoughts, what they want, and hidden agendas are breathtaking. Each time I now go to a zoo, or petting zoo, I will think about the workers and animals. In light of the most recent killing of a trainer in Florida, this important information is needed. Most of us go to see the shows and yet we don’t know the real dangers of animals kept in captivity. Do we really care? If not, I think after reading “Did Not Survive” we will definitely care and we will ask questions. I personally liked learning why people get into this field. Even though the main character lost her husband to lions, she fights and has a great interest in the lives of animals and her co-workers. She puts herself in danger and asks questions no one wants to answer. She will protect her baby at no cost, but is strong and determined. You will love this book, “Did Not Survive” by Ann Littlewood. |
