Cremator's Revenge
Someone is killing “streeters,” or street people, and that someone is Alfred Stillman. Stillman is a serial killer who runs the retort at Sunny Rest Acres, which proves to be an easy place to get rid of his victims by cremating them. Joanne Logan, a reporter, is sent by her editor to get the ‘inside scoop’ story of the “streeters.” Joanne makes a deal with Joni and Too Tall; she will help them find who is killing their friends if they will tell her about life on the streets. Meanwhile, Alfred befriends Darlene and her daughter Darla Jo. He is captivated by Darla's beauty, which does not suit her mother. So, he turns his charm on Darlene, but in the end winds up killing her too. Darla thinks everything is wonderful with Alfred until he beats her, and then finds her mother's body. She runs away, hooks up with the “streeters,” and gives them the information they need on Alfred. From the beginning of this book you are drawn into the “streeters” life, learning how they get clothes, food and money. Ms. Lenois keeps you turning the pages with her true-to-life characters and descriptions. It's the kind of book that you just have to keep reading to see how they will catch him. I would definitely recommend this book. Spine-tingling suspense at its best! |
