Tate is a reiver, the fertile daughter of a vampire queen.  The time has come for her to find a consort.  She will have to hunt him down any way that she can.  The story opens on November Eve, which is the night of the Hunt Ball.  She and the daughter of a higher queen are to be involved in the hunt.  Tate fears that all of the men will be seeking capture by the other queen’s daughter.  The higher queen’s son, Jager, is available and will be present.  Tate knows that she is drawn to him; however, she also realizes that if she is unable to capture him, she will become enslaved to him.  He is a very powerful man, so this idea frightens her.

As the hunt begins, Tate encounters Jager.  Knowing that she does not want to be enslaved by him, she has to fight down her lust for him.  Jager sees this as a challenge.  The erotic scenes that follow attest to this.  When things don’t quite work out as expected, Tate also discovers the depths of her feelings for him.

Written in novella form, “Consort” by Kim Knox is a fantastic erotica paranormal story.  The main characters are incredibly sensual, and the erotic scenes are powerfully written.  I also enjoyed the author’s creation of the hierarchy and tradition in this vampire story.  Don’t miss out on the chance to read this one!
