Social Security: Immaculate Deception - A National Disgrace
There are very few books that I have read that make you want to get up and take action after reading them. However, this is one that should make you do so. Many will either love or hate this reading; even though it is fiction, it is real. The author certainly seems to be very passionate about his thoughts as you can feel the anger and unjust feelings he feels about our government and how it is taking over our lives. I for one certainly agree with his thoughts. Four good friends in an old folk’s home are tired of being abused, shamed, neglected and ignored. The help at the facility are lacking in training and feelings for those who they are caring for. With the help of Clarence’s grandson, who is a lawyer, they decide to take back their lives. They buy the facility they are in, rename it and set it up the way they want it to run. As with many of our senior citizens today, they want their dignity and respect back. As many of us vent each day about the government and rich politicians, very rarely do we do anything about it. It won’t change unless we decide to confront the cheating, lying and using individual’s monies for the sake of government security. Although the book starts out on a light note with the four daring men, the author later begins to talk about the drug war; illegal or legal prostitution; filling our politicians pockets with our hard-earned money. The author of “Social Security: Immaculate Deception – A National Disgrace,” Robert James Karpie, really is trying to get us to start thinking for ourselves and speak up and out when we feel we have been done wrong. Can we get back to the basics or do most of us not care? Many will think the author is ranting against the government. He is strong in his words and thoughts; you may not agree how he presents his feelings, but it you aren’t upset or want to look further into the topics, it will never change for us. |
