In “Seattle Adventures,” the author is an executive in the software industry in the Silicon Valley.  After ten years of employment there, downsizing forces him to relocate to Seattle to work for an e-commerce company which he refers to as Congo.com.  This book tells his story of the experiences that he has working for this company.  He discovers that there is a huge discrepancy in how employees are treated here versus in the Silicon Valley.  Unfortunately, it isn’t a positive change.

Kalpanik enjoys being introduced to the Seattle culture.  His thoughts venture off into areas like the uniqueness of women with tattoos and men with piercings.  Much of his discussions about his experiences in Seattle are quite entertaining and he backs them up with stories with photographs.  It is obvious that he journeyed there with an open mind and was therefore able to more fully appreciate Seattle’s identity.

Because of his disappointment in the way his employer treats him, after a time, he decides that it is time to move on to the next adventure.  So Kalpanik goes off to discover Nashville and all that it has to offer.  Once again, his views are very entertaining and also insightful.  I really enjoyed reading Seattle Adventures” by Kalpanik S. and would definitely recommend it to others.
