“Grandloving” is a grandparent’s guide to making memories, ideas for before the baby is born to adulthood.  This book is a must for all grandparents.  Grandchildren are a blessing.  Who hasn’t seen a grandparent acting silly just to get the child’s attention?  “Grandloving” offers ideas on how to get the most from being a grandparent.  Ideas range from crafts to cooking to books and websites.

Not all grandchildren live close to their loving grandparents.  Ms. Johnson and Ms. Carlson offer tips on long-distance relationships.  Talking to a child on the phone is sometimes awkward; this book contains tips on how to talk with children from different age groups.  Most grandparents like to read to their grandchildren.  The authors have a great suggestion concerning tape recording you reading a book, and then mailing the child the tape.  Most of the ideas are inexpensive and practical.  Most of the crafts are easy to engineer.  The reader may ask, “Why didn’t I think of that?”

This book is wonderful!  As a long-distance grandparent, I’m always looking for ideas to make memories.  This book is packed with ideas and I intend to use several of them.  Ms Johnson and Ms. Carlson are to be congratulated on their unique book.  I wish this had been available a few years ago.  I gladly recommend “Grandloving: Making Memories with Your Grandchildren” to all grandparents.
