There are two problems I usually have with reading poetry. One of them is that I often find it to be negative. The other issue I have is understanding what the author is trying to say in the poetry.  This book of poetry is NOT negative. In fact, I found some of it to be very uplifting. I could particularly relate to the poems about aging:

            "AGE

             One, two, there's everything to do
           as you create a reason for waking.
           Three, four, forget the score;
           slow place instead of quaking.
           Five, six, light a candle wick
           to begin process of raking
           dreams & memories turned grey.
           Seven, eight, don't wait
           to call a distant friend.
           Nine, ten, think of now not then
           while you talk and bend.
           Eleven, twelve is a problem to delve
           like writing a letter to send
           one prayer in the night of day."

There are more poems like this in the book that I could relate to and found uplifting. However, many of the poems were beyond my understanding. I honestly did not understand what the author was trying to say much of the time.

I think this book is for anyone who enjoys poetry. I feel it is a matter of taste, a form of art that each person interprets differently. I enjoyed some of the poetry in this book.
