Ben Harr’s “Double Edged: a Change of Heart,” is touted as being a detective story. The author relates that crime fiction should be hard to write and easy to read. I found it hard to read. From the beginning I did not understand what the book was really about. If I were at the library or at a bookstore, this book would not be one I would be interested in reading. First, there is no information about the author and there is very minimal information regarding what the book is about that would entice me to read it.
The book is divided into four parts. The first section provides information on the two main characters, Tim Paxton and Martinez Sergio who formed a para-military force called the Musketeers which was contracted to locate Armand Farah in Corsica. Farah is apparently tied to terrorist groups.
The second deals with the fact that there is concern regarding climate change and how it will affect the world in the future. Amid this are concerns that individuals like Farah who would attempt to overtake the world while chaotic behavior occurs during the extreme climate changes.
The third section concerns itself with the Knights of Templar, which, from the reading, I assume were something like the Masonics, but was never quite certain. The last section of “Double Edged” was the only section I found somewhat interesting in that it did discuss climate change and possible outcomes for the world. Since we do know that this is already occurring I found it thought-provoking.
