Saasa, a Qasim female, is taken captive by Ram when he crash lands on her planet. She actually allowed herself to be taken captive so that she could find out the alien’s intents. Ram is of the Jumaane people. This is a peaceful race that explores other planets. Years ago, the Karhia race invaded her planet, killing off most of the people, including the children. Saasa and the people of her village went into seclusion to escape the pain of what occurred there. Saasa is very wary of Ram, fearing that his people are like the Karhia, yet she still has difficulties in controlling her attraction to him.

Ram also has difficulties with controlling his lust for Saasa. He is leery of her. Her people are nowhere to be found and he is afraid of being set up. He needs her to guide him through a jungle to get to the volcanic mountain Firescream where he can find raw material to power his ship. Otherwise, he will be stuck on this planet forever.

Saasa is afraid of the volcano and terrified of going through her old village because of the devastating memories that it holds for her. As Ram’s captive, she has no choice but to obey. On their journey, lust overcomes them and they share each other’s bodies, repeatedly, in all sorts of interesting positions. Ram also helps Saasa deal with the demons from her past. He learns about the tragedy that occurred in her village and how she lost what was most precious to her there. In addition to sating his lust with her body, he discovers that he has true feelings for her.

This is a steamy e-book. Vonna Harper can write some great sex scenes, she incorporates sensuality, fine detail and matters of the heart into this story. I appreciate her writing style. This is a real treat for women that enjoy erotica and science fiction.
