Author Gurdip Hari has written this book to teach us about the importance of, and the links between the mind, body and spirit.  He describes the mind as our driver, the body as our vehicle and the spirit as our real self.  By following the Law of Action, we gain an understanding about how to be mentally, physically, and spiritually fit.

Hari tells us that there is “No gain without any pain – no achievement or goal can be accomplished in life without the help of a concentrated persistent, repetitive effort.”  We begin with our mind, because our mind needs to be aware of what is happening inside our bodies.  This includes areas of self-care and preventive maintenance for good health.    There is a great mind-body connection.  “The mind thinks and the body turns those thoughts into action.”  Depending upon these thoughts, this can impact our health either positively or negatively.  It is really important that we focus both on having sound mental health as well as physical health.

I was really impressed that this book puts an emphasis on the importance of physical health.  The author even includes an exercise guide that offers a good variety of basic exercises.  This will help the reader develop a basic training program to help them on the road to good health.   Under spiritual health, he also gives a very in-depth discussion about Reiki healing.  As a Reiki Master, I was very impressed with how well he covered this topic and made it easy to understand.

Many of us spend too much time focusing on what is happening outside our bodies.  It is time for mankind to move beyond materialism towards spiritualism.  The current imbalance that we have between the two has caused huge problems to manifest in our lives and society.  We tend to look more outside of ourselves when we can actually find greater answers and solutions within.  This can prevent us from truly being happy.

Hari tells us, “You are the Master of your own destiny…” We choose the kind of life that we want.  I highly recommend that you learn to love yourself, care for your mind, body and soul, and that you read “Mental, Physical and Spiritual Health.”  It would also make a wonderful gift for someone on their spiritual journey.
