Relative Insanity
Author Shauna Glenn has written a humorous book that will keep you laughing, while at the same time nodding in agreement with her thoughts. No one ever said being a parent or spouse would be easy, but they didn’t say it would be crazy either. Through everyday life events Shauna gives a glimpse into her own hectic life as to how she handles kids who fight and a husband who thinks just going to work is enough for him. She questions whether or not she really is losing herself into this world of adulthood and how she will capture back her true being. Just when Kate decides she can’t handle it anymore she convinces her husband she needs a housekeeper and someone to help with the kids. Forget that the housekeeper didn’t have command of the English language or Kate didn’t know Spanish. But they both connected and the kids really loved her. Little did Kate know that her husband had decided he was going to quit his job because he couldn’t stand it anymore. She was most worried her about how was she going to be able to handle him being under foot all day. Finding that she needed attention for just her, Kate falls for Matthew and they have a short fling. What she didn’t know was that her husband would ask her to leave the house when he found out about it. Having to stay in a hotel, she finally comes to her senses and realizes that she really loves her family and wants to make it work. Full of wit, humor and sarcasm you will either love Kate or hate her. She does seem to go overboard in her thoughts about what is going on in her family yet readers can still relate to her. I recommend “Relative Insanity” for an entertaining read. |
