Watchkeeper
Gwendolyn finds herself drawn to the soul that now inhabits her husband’s body. Unfortunately, this incident draws the attention of Blackbeard’s ghost. Blackbeard wants to inhabit the body and he wants the map to a treasure that Stede buried before his death. He holds the soul of Gwendolyn’s grandmother hostage until he gets what he wants. Gwendolyn and Stede have twenty-four hours to devise a plan that will allow them to find and keep the treasure, rescue her Grandma’s soul and allow Stede to stay in Roger’s body. They also manage to find time to explore their intense attraction to each other. Trying to outsmart Blackbeard puts both their lives in danger. Finding themselves in more than just lust with each other makes them become more determined to come up with a plan so that they can be together for the rest of their lives. I really enjoyed this erotic fantasy. Having Blackbeard and Stede’s character based on real people made it even more interesting. Having visited the magical town of Charleston a few months ago made me wish that I had read this story before I went. Ms. Glass does an excellent job of bringing the place to life. She also did a great job of bringing the characters to life. I mean this in more ways than one. Tying all of the elements of the story together, including history, erotica, romance, and magic make for one great read. I highly recommend reading “Watchkeeper” by Debra Glass. |
