David Gibbs watched, as Terri Schiavo died a slow death.  He makes no apologies for stating that he believes that Teri was done an injustice.  David Gibbs answers the questions:  “Why I fought for Terri, Why I’d do it again. And why I’d fight for you too.”  Whether you agree or disagree with Mr. Gibbs opinion you will come to a new understanding of why he felt he had to defend Terri’s right to live to the end.

The first time Mr. Gibbs visited with Terri he found a very different patient than he expected.  “I found Terri sitting in a recliner…No IV Drip.  No monitors.  No ventilator.  No indication. of any form of artificial life support in use.  Even the feeding tube was unattached to the port in Terri’s stomach.” ”It was clear that Terri understood who the different people were in the room. At the sound of her mother’s voice, Terri squealed with delight” It was obvious to David that Terri heard him and understood what he said to her.

Mr. Gibbs pays close attention to detail.  He relies upon his experience as an attorney and his belief in God as he tells the story behind the legal battle that sentenced Terri to death.  He shares in detail her last days.  He discusses what the courts decision could mean for you and I.

I applaud Mr. Gibbs for his stance in this issue.  This book is well written and one all should read.  Regardless of which side of the issue you stand on the ramifications could affect you or someone you love.  “Fighting for Dear Life” is an eye opener.  I highly recommend this book.
