If you are planning a trip to Dallas, “A Marmac Guide to Dallas” is a must have!  At 688 pages you will find everything you need and then some.

This travel book covers history, facts, transportation, lodging, dining, performing arts, nightlife, sights and attractions, visual arts, shopping, sports and special events.  As well there is a section on self-guided tours, and if you are a visitor or a new resident from out of the United States there is even a section for you.

If you are wondering why this book is so thick it’s because Yves Gerem gives full details rather than just a list of lodging or dining places.  He not only gives the facts but also gives a detailed description of the atmosphere, things you should know, and other pertinent information to make you decide whether or not to visit the location or use the service. He is not biased but gives researched details.

As a visitor to Dallas myself I’m thrilled with this book.  I’ll be using it on my next trip there because, as I suspected, we missed some prominent venues that seemed to go by the wayside.  I highly recommend this book but, because of its publication date, I do recommend that visitors also check with the tourist stop on any new events that haven’t been included in this book and call the restaurants to be sure they are still operating.  Yet, I believe “A Marmac Guide to Dallas” is a timeless book and do recommend it.
