Rogue Theta
The Viliri had attacked his colony first; they had destroyed all he had, his family and his home. So he volunteered to become one of the Theta. Implants were injected into his brain, overriding his identity and free will. When his unit left the planet Grissom, Nine Bravo Delta Delta One, Gage Benjamin, stayed behind. His chip was damaged; he began to feel desire for a woman -- the woman sent to kill him. The beautiful Lilliana and the rogue, Gage, began a cat and mouse game. She was the cat chasing her mouse. Soon she decided on a different tactic; she would bait him with her body. When she had the chance, she did not kill him. He was a puzzle to her. She wanted to understand him. She stabbed him with a tranq stick, sending a double dose of Narcon into his body. He ran from her and she tracked him. Memories began flooding his mind as the chip began to shut down. He was becoming human again. Lilliana knew the answer was to remove the chip to return the Thetas to human. She set up a makeshift operating room and removed the damaged tactical chip. When he came to, she told him he was dead as far as her boss knew. He needed to take a new name and create a new life for himself. The two allow their desire to overcome them and make love to satisfy their lust. They decided to escape together. Someone would discover that she had lied about completing her mission. She would be marked for death. Together they would stand. What began as a death mission became a mission of love. “Theta Rogue,” by Bernadette Gardner, is a beautiful love story. The plot is science fiction with erotic and romantic twists. Lilliana is beautiful, strong, courageous and compassionate. Gage is strongly fighting to become human again, willing to run with Lilliana seeking to protect her. From the first page I was hooked. I read “Rogue Theta” in one sitting. This is a hot, steamy book with a great plot. I highly recommend “Rogue Theta” to fans of erotic romance and science fiction. |
