This is the first of a Trilogy of books that will soon be on the shelves of your local bookstore. The authors, Stephen A. Enna and Dennis J. Wootten, introduce the characters in a very detailed manner, from their college days as young men, to the present day. They make it clear to the reader what each one is all about and they go in depth to give the reader a thorough understanding of each one. “Aloha!” has the enticement and allure of mixing historical facts and fiction, with some current events.

Although there was not an overabundance of flashbacks, the book does have its share.
This makes it a bit confusing sometimes because the reader just starts to get into a particular character when the next chapter regresses to another character at another time and place.

“Aloha!” is a disturbing look into our future. It describes fictional changes to our future society; if allowed to happen, these changes would be radical.  Some ideas seemed a little far-fetched at times but if you think about the direction our country is heading, maybe they are not. For example, the gay movement is picking up momentum and gay men and women are coming out of the woodwork and there is no stopping it. So the notion that we could have a gay President, as the book describes, is a definite possibility and not far-fetched.

As for the entertaining value of the book I have to give it a B, “Aloha!” was very well constructed with much detail paid to character introduction and plot. The print was of a readable size and quality with good cover art and descent binding. I would suggest that it is a good adult audience read due to the subject matter and some descriptive verbiage.
