Ninety days ago I submitted an initial review of “Slim Down Using Mind Magic” and indicated that I would attach an addendum after the program was finished: this is that addendum.

I must profess at the outset that I was not the best student during my ninety days of following Autumn E.’s action plan for losing weight.  If I had been a better student, I am sure I would have lost more weight.  In an attempt to remain transparent in my review, I must admit that I remained on a popular (points-tracking) weight loss program in conjunction with Autumn E.’s ninety-day plan.  I have always been deficient in tracking points – and I was similarly deficient at journaling.  However, despite my failure to write everything down, I managed to lose ten pounds!  I deliberately did not change the way I conducted myself (in relation to the popular weight loss program) so that I could better evaluate whether “Slim Down Using Mind Magic” worked.  My conclusion is that Autumn E.’s program works, and works well if the student adheres to its requirements. 

One of the benefits of “Slim Down Using Mind Magic” is that you can always keep trying if you do not feel as if you adequately committed yourself to the action plan.  My lackadaisical initial attempt netted a ten pound loss… I can already envision what will happen when I make a concerted effort at following the plan.  So to answer the question in the heading: “Can it really be this easy?” the answer is “Yes!” it really can be that easy.

If you are familiar with the countless mind-over-matter, self-help manuals that occupy bookshelves, “Slim Down Using Mind Magic” will make you feel right at home.  Autumn E. has written a book that employs that very mind-over-matter technique to losing weight.  “Slim Down Using Mind Magic” professes to help you lose weight – in ninety days – by merely changing your thought process about yourself.

When I first received the book, I initially flipped through it and saw a lot of fill-in-the-blank exercises.  Immediately I was turned off.  I am not a big fan of journal-as-you-go requirements.  But after reading the book, and actually looking at the exercises that are required, there was nothing to be afraid of.  The exercises are more akin to writing down the thought processes that you should eventually develop. 

The first few chapters explain “mind magic” and get your mind prepped for the next ninety days.  Autumn E. clearly explains the premise without getting too touchy/feely like a lot of other new age books.  “Slim Down Using Mind Magic” will ideally change your thought processes so that you want to eat better, exercise, or alleviate the things in your life that are getting in the way of losing weight.  The first step on this road is to totally clean your house.  Yes, you read that correctly – you must totally clean your house first.  Autumn E. explains why, and it makes perfect sense.

I am starting the ninety-day program from “Slim Down Using Mind Magic” this weekend (after I clean my house!).  A follow-up review will be posted after the ninety-days have elapsed – and hopefully I will be a couple of sizes smaller.
