This book brings to mind a bumper sticker I once saw. It read “Save a horse-ride a cowboy!” Well, in this case it’s an Irish construction worker pretending to be a cowboy, but the ride is just as fantastic.

Sexy Liam Derby loses a sports bet with his brother Crusher, and is forced to dress up in a black Stetson and flowered cowboy shirt and wait in a local bar frequented by Red Sox fans on game night against Texas. And Texas is winning. Then his brother calls to say he can’t make it and Liam is left feeling rather foolish until she walks in.

Brooke Miller is a woman on a mission; determined to do something (or somebody) risky and spontaneous before she turned thirty. When she saw him, she knew what that was going to be. Within minutes of meeting, the two are hot and heavy in a nearby boat shed, (now how did an out-of-town cowboy know where that was?). Brooke gives Liam her all, holding nothing back and he definitely rises to the occasion, twice in fact.

After they go their separate ways, each can’t stop thinking about the other. Though they are virtually strangers, their bodies are intimate acquaintances and fate brings them together again when Brooke finds out Liam’s construction company is renovating her gallery. The spark is still burning hot. Liam still has all the right tools to persuade Brooke to forgive him for pretending to be a cowboy, and that she is the wild, creative and passionate woman he took to the boat shed. She wants him just as much as he wants her and neither can resist the temptation.

Isabelle Drake has a way with sex scenes that fulfill any woman’s wildest fantasy – a cowboy in a black hat and a hard-bodied construction worker? Oh yea!

Size doesn’t always matter. “Hard Fall” by Isabelle Drake is only 75 pages long but it still hits all the right spots to bring about a satisfying read. Whether you are a country girl, or a city slicker, saddle up and enjoy the ride!
