Serenity Expert Kathy Douglas shares her methods of obtaining God’s promised peace through her new book “Secrets of Serenity.”  Each of her 60 stories is Biblically-based and can be applied to a myriad of situations and different types of worries.  Her readings are meant to be read at one-per-day and can easily be meditated upon over the course of the next 24 hours – whether in a traffic jam, a long line at the store, or amid screaming children at home.

Delightfully easy to read even for the busiest of women, Douglas’ narratives are both serious and lighthearted, encouraging, and give hope to hopeless situations.  “When serenity runs from us like a disobedient toddler, thankfulness can get the calm back into our outstretched hands.”  Find peace during those few and far between times that are spent alone with God.  Smile as she explains her concept of ‘edible serenity’ – all while enjoying a small…very, very small…handful of chocolate candies.  Feel a renewed sense of security as she reminds the reader of God’s watchful eye despite whatever world events are happening.  “In difficult times of loss or danger, our quietness of spirit doesn’t come from a present focus, but from a heavenly perspective…let’s not allow the present terrors of our dark places to shatter the serenity of being in the grip of our ‘blessed controller of all things’.”  Even in the valley of the shadow of a worrisome doctor appointment, Douglas strives to find her inner peace through scripture.

“Secrets of Serenity” is written with a gentle, mentor-like style that calms and supports with every beautiful word.  Douglas successfully conveys her process to the reader while sensitive to individual anxiety and fear.  Targeted for women ages 25-45, her work is appropriate not only for the godly woman needing some extra comfort but also for the worldly woman tired of life’s letdowns, finally ready to accept some heavenly help.

In today’s blurring rush of life, work, children, and the dark cloud of future uncertainty, “Secrets of Serenity” comes as a breath of fresh air.  Kathy Douglas gently guides the reader toward scriptural tranquility while entertaining and at the same time.  Serenity now!
