A combination of rhythm and rhyme, “Animated Reality: Musings for Music” certainly gives the reader an opportunity to muse in one’s own imagination and delve into their own inner being.  Many of the pieces are dreamlike, others are humorous, and yet others make no sense at all (to me.)

Renny Dolan’s work amused me to no end as I read through his book.  One specific piece touched my soul:

“Minding the Stone

Inside the mind, is an ocean
a life force of energy.
Neurons flitter from a notion
like bright fishes of the sea.

Ideas that connect, leave electrical tracks
as a virtual recording station.
Scramble to select, intellectual paths
for a fireworks celebration.”

The poem continues to delve deeper, as do many of the others.  I commend Dolan on creating an array of musings for his reader’s enjoyment.  He is talented and I encourage you, the reader, to add some music to your soul through “Animated Reality: Musings for Music.”
