This novel is very intriguing. It combines elements of adventure, mystery, myth, legend, and romance; and, as a result, is very, very difficult to put down. The novel begins with a young man finding a map to Atlantis, through some very risky escapades, and then continues on his search for Atlantis. Fifteen years later, he still hasn’t found Atlantis and the map has become a decoration on his wall. Little does he know that a woman, Sabine Tobias, is looking for the map to enable her to decipher an ancient prophecy. She gambles with him for the map, and loses, but wins his heart. Together they face a coldblooded killer, and the destruction of everything Sabine holds dear.

I especially enjoyed the quest to find the dove in the book. It was so exciting; there were chambers and underground death-traps, even a life-sized board game where the penalty of a wrong move is your death. Then, to find out that they were looking in the wrong place, well that was just interesting. It is a really entertaining book; it’s a lot of fun to read and it would make a very good movie. It is well written and the imagery is very detailed. You feel like these caves and chambers, treasures and Atlantis do exist. The relationship between Max and Sabine is amusing. Max is “devilishly charming” and Sabine just can’t be distracted from her quest.  I wouldn’t categorize it as historical romance; it doesn’t seem to be historical, except in that it mentions a few items, places, and events from history. I would categorize it as fantasy, and the romance part is relatively reserved. It doesn’t detract from the adventure in any way, and as such I can recommend this book to adults who enjoy fantasy, adventure, or science fiction. I highly recommend “Desire Me,” and any novel by Robyn DeHart, as they will provide a welcome enrichment to your book collection. I look forward to reading the next Legend Hunters book!
