I love anything that has to do with the paranormal world.  This includes watching “Ghost Hunters” on the Science Fiction channel.  Sometimes I scare myself too much to go to sleep.  Getting to read “Jane’s Prize” was a real treat.  Jane is an elementary school teacher who is on vacation. When she receives a mysterious challenge to earn $5,000 by sleeping in the Newland Mansion, she takes it.  The Newland Mansion is reputed to be haunted.  Jane must spend 48 hours there.  The only thing that she has to do for her money is to stay there for the full time and videotape at odd hours.  Jane is excited about making the money.

The first night there, Jane encounters a strange phenomenon. She finds herself witnessing the re-enactment of a murder that occurred in the 1920s. Jane jumps in to prevent Pierce Newland’s stepmother from poisoning him.  In doing so, she touches Pierce and discovers that her touch has caused him to be materialized.  Being single, Jane is very attracted to him.  She discovers that in saving him, she is now responsible for him.  She takes full advantage of this opportunity.

It appears that Pierce’s murderer has also come back.  Jane and Pierce investigate their options in dealing with this woman.  They also have to find out what they can do to make sure that he stays.  Jane finds herself falling for him.  Their attraction to each other totally consumes them.  They have many intimate, erotic moments.

“Jane’s Prize” is such a fun story to read.  Take “Ghost Hunter’s” and add a splash of mystery and a cup of erotica and you’ve got one great fantasy!  I really enjoyed how Margrett Dawson pulled people into the story that had their own mysteries surrounding them.  She also incorporates legends regarding ghosts into the tale.  This makes it more complete.   I definitely recommend reading “Jane’s Prize.”
