“Tears of the Reaper” is published on-line by Ellora’s Cave and falls into the Romantica® level of S–ensuous.  Sensuous is described by Ellora’s Cave as loves scenes that are explicit, leave nothing to the imagination.  I found this book to be fast-paced, well-written and enjoyable to read.  The author certainly knows how to quickly capture the reader’s attention and keep it there throughout the story.

It is the year 3478 and life is hard for the Reaper Owen Tohre as he steps into hell by abusing the narcotic tenerse that he needs to exist.  He has grown very dissatisfied with the life that he was forced into by the Triune Goddess Morrigunia.  He and his group of Reapers were brought the galaxy of Terra to kill rogue Reapers being created by scientists who want to destroy Terra.  He is very weak from tenerse overdose as he heads back towards his home, the Citadel, unable to even transform into a form that could fly there quicker.  When he hears the cries of someone drowning, he jumps into the sea, without thinking, to save a boy’s life, and almost loses his own in the process.

When Owen awakens, he finds himself in a strict Colony that has no respect for woman.  He soon finds out that several murders have occurred and the people who are killed are turning into the living dead.  He and his other Reapers have to catch the evil that is causing this before the colonies are destroyed.  As he tackles this in his weakened state he is taken care of by a local woman, Rachel.  He quickly realizes that their response to each other has put her life in terrible danger with her people.  And he knows that he will do anything and risk any punishment to keep her safe and with him.  With her he glimpses the first happiness he has known in a very long time.

As he races to save Rachel’s life, he finds that he has to pay a terrible price and make a deal with the Goddess Morrigunia.  He loves Rachel too much to let her go and is willing to pay this price for a chance of a life with this wonderful woman.  This well-written fast paced story of “Tears of the Reaper” will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end.
